GroupLife Communication

group-leaders

Authenticated group leaders and primary contacts can send a message to their entire group or selected participants.

Send an Email

You can send an email with attachments to all or select recipients. Emails are sent by and logged in the Platform. If a participant doesn't have an email address, they do not display as an eligible recipient. Note: If you're using a proxy email, replies may be sent to that proxy if the email provider doesn't honor explicit "reply to" settings.

  1. In GroupLife, open your group.
  2. Click the Participants tab, and select the people to send the message to.
  3. From the Select an action drop-down list, select Send message.
  4. Select Email.
  5. Confirm the Recipients.
  6. Enter a Subject Line and Message.
  7. If needed, click the Attachments tab, and upload the file(s).
  8. When you're ready, click Send.

Send a Text

You can send a text message (limited to 160 characters) to all or select recipients. Texts are sent by and logged in the Platform. If a participant doesn't have a mobile phone number, they do not display as an eligible recipient. Note: The Administrators Security Role needs to have a value greater than zero in the Mass Text Quota field in order for GroupLife to send text messages.

To send a text message, the SMS Number field on the Group record must be populated. Pro Tip: Configure your outbound SMS Numbers and then update your Group records. Multiple Groups can use the same phone number for outbound texting.
  1. In GroupLife, open your group.
  2. Click the Participants tab, and select the people to send the message to.
  3. From the Select an action drop-down list, select Send message.
  4. Select Text Message. If you don't see this option, make sure the SMS Number is selected on the Group record in the Platform.
  5. Confirm the Recipients.
  6. Enter a Message of up to 160 characters.
  7. When you're ready, click Send.
