GroupLife Sign-ups

The Sign-ups tab in GroupLife allows an authenticated leader or primary contact to respond to Group Inquiries without requiring access to MinistryPlatform. (Group Inquiry records are created when someone signs up via the Group Details widget, if you have the option configured.)

In the list, you can see all the individuals who expressed interest in signing up for the group. If the interested person can be matched to a Contact record, their information displays, including the default image attached to their Contact record. Nickname, last name, mobile phone, email, and inquiry date display for each interested person. If they left a comment when they requested to sign up, you can view it here as well. You can sort the list can be sorted by name or inquiry date.

Manage Sign-ups

You can manage inquiries without logging into the Platform.

  1. In GroupLife, open your group.
  2. Click the Sign-ups tab.
  3. Click the ellipsis on the row of the request you want to accept or decline.
  4. Select the appropriate action:
    • Accept: The pending participant will be added to the group, and the associated records will be created. This requires confirmation.
      • Contact Record: If no associated Contact record exists, one is created with the Contact Status of Active.
      • Household Record: If there is no associated Household record, one is created.
      • Participant Record: A Participant record with the start date of the accepted date is created. The Participant Type specified in COMMON, defaultParticipantType is created if an associated Participant record does not exist. The Participant Record shows the note, "Created by Group Life App".
      • Group Participant Record: A Group Participant record is created for all pending placed participants with the date accepted as the start date. A note of "Created by Group Life App" is added to the Group Participant record. The Group Member type is sourced from the Group Type "Default Role".
    • Reject: The pending participant will not be added to the group, and the Placed field will be set to "No". This requires confirmation.
Note: Pending participants will not receive an email after they are accepted or declined unless you have set up a process to email them.
